Operation 4/11 (or how I got caught snooping)

Ok for those who follow me on twitter  and/or are my facebook friend, you might have noticed the emergence of SHE. We are referring to her as SHE for the time being because the last time I had a public eye relationship it resulted in a public eye breakup and I am not down for that right now.

I hadn’t planned on blogging about her just yet but ummm yeah that was before I got caught checking up on her when one of my internet “friends” snitched on me…

Got to be more careful…

KWord Approved: The Skinny

I just finished running around my bedroom hollering “Hallelujah”… no I’m still on my 6 calorie workout plan but this is nearly as good…. ok maybe not. Before I go on a tangent (which we know tends to happen), the reason I am excited is that Patrik-Ian Polk of Noah’s Arc and Punks fame is finally coming out with a new feature film “The Skinny”.

I know we have been hearing rumblings about this project for the last two years but the trailer has been released today. For those of us who still religiously watch Noah’s Arc reruns, this is the fix that we have been feening for. From the looks of the trailer, The Skinny is full of the witty, BEAUTIFUL, and, charismatic black gay men and women (yes I said WOMEN) in the fashion we have come to expect from a Polk film. I am so excited for this to come out. And I know you are too. Check out the trailer below.

:60 Second Shorts – Why Sheryl Swoopes Doesn’t Need NYs Approval

Now I know that Superlesbians Don’t Exist but I will have to say Sheryl Swoopes was pretty damn close to a lot of us… okay maybe just me. As the first African American openly gay player in the WNBA, with a few gold medals to boot, Sheryl’s revelation immediately made her a role model to many young lesbians (whether she said that was her goal or not).

Granted when she originally came out as a lesbian, her statements weren’t exactly ones I would use as soundbites for “the cause”…

“I’m not bisexual,” she said. “I don’t think I was born [gay]. Again, it was a choice. As I got older, once I got divorced, it wasn’t like I was looking for another relationship, man or woman. I just got feelings for another woman. I didn’t understand it at the time, because I had never had those feelings before.” (which is eerily reminisce of the quote from the “Ebony’s Hot Lesbian Couple” chick)

10 Things 2 Know About: Nikki DaVinci

Born in New Orleans and cultivated in New York, Nikki DaVinci is a writer, poet, designer, painter and photographer. Be careful around this renaissance woman because her words have been known to make one’s body react uncontrollably.

Just finishing up her first tour with the Punany Poets and with her first book available on Amazon, remember the name as you might be meeting one of next lesbian laureates.

Give her time and she will penetrate your mind with her Bic (if you are into that kind of thing).
