#SuperGayMovie Review: Leave it on The Floor #lgbtfilm #gayfilm

LiotF Leave It On The Floor, by Sheldon Larry, explores the underground ball scene in Los Angeles in the form of a gay musical.

Say what girl? A gay musical?

IF you’re like me, you’re thinking, “Aren’t all musicals gay?” Well this is one Super Gay Musical, complete with drag houses, vogue dance battles and a boy on boy modern dance number.

E Gads!

In typical musical fashion, there is drama and romance. Unlike other musicals, this is the story of two boys in love and the drama that ensues. Ephraim Sykes plays Brad, a young street kid who has been adopted into the House of Eminence after his mother throws him out. The house is run by its mother, Queef Latina, whose husband is in jail. Queef Latina, played by the infamous Barbie-Q, is quite the belt-her. I promise you, if you close your eyes and listen to her sing, you’ll hear Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls. For that alone, this movie is worth the price of admission.

Brad finds himself in the snare of the divinely beautiful Princess Eminence (Phillip Evelyn) and in love with the innocent, cute and bubbly Carter (Andre Myers). To top it off, Queef Latina has made it very clear that Brad’s on probation and had better not touch either one of her girls while living in the house. What’s a hot young stud in heat to do? Hmm…well, if he can help The House of Eminence win the upcoming ball, his problems may be over or just beginning, who’s to say?

This movie is cute. A little over the top at times, but it’s a gay musical. Of course it’s a little over the top. If you’re looking for something cute and you don’t mind using that remote to fast forward some of the longer numbers (‘Black Love’ was a bit tragic for my taste), then try this on for size. Enjoy!
