For those who know me on a non-virtual level (I was going to say a personal level… but yeah anyone that reads this blog knows me quiiiite personally *shrugs*) I have been going on and on about the launch of my newest project, the Lesbians of Color Dinner Series. The last Saturday of the month, dynamic lesbians of color from all over South Florida get together to dish, eat, and network. I would include sip but if it is something I am a part of, that should be pretty obvious.
So Saturday was our first dine. It was AMAZING! No, I’m not just saying that because I was the host. The theme of my dinner was a Wine and Tapas Soiree (with a little/lot of Sangria) too. We ended up with 16 [insert another word for amazing] women, 20 bottles of wine, 3 gallons of sangria and only 2 broken glasses. We got little snapshots into each other’s lives and wow what lives we live. Let’s just say I didn’t think I would be hearing about someone sewing a man’s fingers back on after an accident, or that I would be preparing to ride (read: watch others ride) in a 100ish mile bike ride supporting the less fortunate. We were regaled with singing, played an epic game of Celebrity and did a LOT of late night dancing in the dark. I would go on and on, but I guess pictures will have to say the remaining thousand words.
Special shout out of course to KP for being the Robin to my Batman (though we aren’t in ANY pictures together.. IJS)
I am up early this morning sipping on a well deserved and needed cup of joe. Yesterday night was the Miami Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce‘s Yellow Gala, one of the annual must-attend events for the Miami LGBT elite. (I have no idea how they let me slip in the door…. *shrugs*). I saw some familiar faces and met some new lovely people.
Special hugs and kisses to George and Sean (the Southern Gentlemen — by way of New York), the legendary Elaine Lancaster, James Brown and the Perry Ellis team, Rafa of Wire Magazine (I have a leopard blazer to squeeeeeze into), the GIRLSSSSSS Kathleen and Cindy of Lucky Strikes, my incomparable Karen Brown (I will sip the tea I have.. but I won’t spill it), little Miss Shayna (I’m calling you from Heathrow) and everyone else that made the night wonderful. Here are some flicks… yes I will invest in a camera if I feel I must keep taking pictures #finejudgeme.

Wanda joined other celebrities for the 37th annual Toyota Grand Prix celebrity race this past weekend.
Each year during the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach,Toyota hosts a celebrity race alongside the real racing for a good cause. This year, the event will raise more than $100,000 for “Racing for Kids,” a national organization that benefits children’s hospitals in Southern California, and create $20,000 for other charities.
@PandoraEvents did it again! Industry, the Saturday night dance party of Her Winter Party 2013 was CRAZY! Lovely ladies, go-go dancers and a tight DJ set kept you moving all night. Official event photos and video are rolling out soon, but we have a sneak peak for you.
Yep, we got it like that…. well that and Crys J took them.

Kudos to the @HerWinterParty team for putting on an amazing kickoff event on Wednesday. Set at the gorgeous Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, it was a wonderful night of Grey Goose martinis, yummy bites from Chilis (I obviously have been selling them short) and GORGEOUS women. It was definitely the right start for the Her Winter Party festivities next month. I am already getting my outfits together. (Don’t judge me.)
Oh and for full disclosure purposes I am on the Her Winter Party committee… though I had nothing to do with the planning on this event.
ALL PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITH MY TRUSTY IPHONE Except for the ones I “borrowed” from the amazing Steve rothaus
