Curated and founded by @IsisAsare (photographed below), Sistah Sinema’s  goal is to become an international distribution network for Queer Women of Color cinema. Isis-Asare-Sistah-Sinema Adding roughly five titles each month to the platform,viewers will be introduced (and sometimes re-introduced) to independent titles by QWOC that they just won’t find on Netflix.

Super Gay Movie Review:  Starrbooty — starring @RuPaul

StarrbootyFirst, let me just say that my Starrbooty movie experience has been an adventure in the making. Back when this girl was a barely legal, college radio DJ on the graveyard shift at WRAS Atlanta 88.5fm (shameless plug), a caller requested a song from RuPaul’s Starrbooty.  I can’t recall all of the details but I ended up finding the album and playing the title track.  It was the most goddess-awful things I’d ever heard…and yet, I was in love.

I searched for her over the years and got close to finding her a few times but that Starrbooty kept eluding me. Finally, I heard that there was a new Starrbooty movie out and she was better than ever.  I am not disappointed. I am not only satisfied, I am GAGGING. Continue reading

I have had my fill of lesbian drama. Ok. Let me restate that please. I am sick and tired of WATCHING lesbian drama on my digital devices. With that being said, I am all for lesbian comedy. It’s about time
someone came along with a sense of humor. I was beginning to lose faith in my sisters. We can’t all be so serious all the time can we? I am also sick of seeing black women languishing behind bars…which is
