Better Late Than Never: Happy Birthday to Me – Giveback Kickback

cover2So in true Kristi of the K Word fashion, I completely forgot to blog about my birthday on my birthday… or even the week of my birthday…

Why I Need to Unfollow The National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce on Facebook

Now this is one of those blog posts that I have to think about before publishing. I talk to myself about it, I question myself about it, and hopefully I click publish in the end.

I overthink posts like this because I know what I am going to discuss can be as sensitive for you the reader as myself the writer. And deep down I don’t want the amazing non black queer people I know to think that this is about them… unless it is.

Super Gay Movie in the Works: Macho

I know it has been a while since I posted but between my journals and my trip to Spain (pics to be posted soon) and everything else crazy going on…. I have been swamped.

It is being shot in North central Florida, which you know is where my people are from (yes I said it as country as it sounded). I can remember spending my childhood there drinking Bright n Early and sitting on the porch with my Ma Helen.

Written and Directed by Faren Humes, Macho is a story of acceptance and the transforming power of love. Continue reading

If you read this, you already know the details but if not.

I make one-of-a-kind, hand stitched journals and sketchbooks.

Hopefully one day soon I will open an etsy shop until then I am going to K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) and just update this post with new journals and updated pricing.

I also make custom orders and requests, which is super fun. If you are interested in that check the FAQs below. Continue reading

#SupportBlackLezBiz – @SistahSinema’s @IndieFlix Collaboration

Happy Monday! As fans of super gay movies, we are extremely excited about Sistah Sinema on IndieFlix.
