Hello lovebugs!

I flew in from Toronto EARLY this morning and boy are my wings tired. (Yes I get lame when sleep deprived.)  So instead of writing a lengthy  post, I will let these pictures speak a million.

Super Gay Movie of the Week: Boy Culture Directed by Q. Allan Brocka

l_433350_6f8108e5Have you ever seen a movie that reminded you of a bunch queens you knew back in college ? Oh, yea…hunti. Boy Culture is that movie.

2006 was a good year for gay moview and Boy Culture is one of my favorites! Remember Darryl Stephens who played Noah in Noah’s Arc? Yep. He’s in it, too…which is one of the reasons I just had to see this movie. He must be one heckuva versatile actor because he plays a top in Boy Culture.

You Go, Boy. Continue reading

Out and About: Miami Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Yellow Gala (Gallery)

Goooood morning lovebugs!

I am up early this morning sipping on a well deserved and needed cup of joe. Yesterday night was the Miami Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce‘s Yellow Gala, one of the annual must-attend events for the Miami LGBT elite. (I have no idea how they let me slip in the door…. *shrugs*). I saw some familiar faces and met some new lovely people.

Special hugs and kisses to George and Sean (the Southern Gentlemen — by way of New York), the legendary Elaine Lancaster, James Brown and the Perry Ellis team, Rafa of Wire Magazine (I have a leopard blazer to squeeeeeze into), the GIRLSSSSSS Kathleen and Cindy of Lucky Strikes, my incomparable Karen Brown (I will sip the tea I have.. but I won’t spill it), little Miss Shayna (I’m calling you from Heathrow) and everyone else that made the night wonderful. Here are some flicks… yes I will invest in a camera if I feel I must keep taking pictures #finejudgeme.

Lights Camera Action – The 15th Annual Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is NEXT WEEKEND!

As you know, we at the K Word love this time of year, lots of parties…lots of lesbians… lots of lesbian partying….. SCORE!

One of Crys’s favorite events is happening next week! Can you guess what it is?

[ insert your duh here]

Of course it’s the 15th annual Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.  The 10 day event will take place from Friday April 26 until Sunday May 5, 2013, mostly on South Beach, with additional films screened at locations throughout Miami.

The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival is committed to its mission: To inspire, entertain and educate the public, encourage a sense of community through international and culturally diverse film, video and other media that offer historical and contemporary perspectives on the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience. (How can you not love that?)

Crys and Kristi will be posting their MUST-SEE films choices by next week, but to see the whole line up and buy your tickets check them out here.

Oh and after the party is the after-party… Let’s go!

Let’s Have a Fling – Miami Beach Pride is Next Weekend

flingThe lesbian social calendar in Miami is kicking into high gear, and we are already pooped. After having an amazing time with the folks of the National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce (aside from the hospital visit that is) for Her Winter Party 2013, we ready for more! We can do it!

*cue Rocky theme music*

In the next two months there will be a lesbian overload on the beach so we will be forced to post more event recaps and pictures.

Awww Poor us.

Next up is Miami Beach Gay Pride. Lezzie powerhouses icandee and Pandora events are teaming up again to give the ladies 3 hot events. We will definitely be in the building, so if you see us say hi and smile for the camera. Check below for the details.
